Ghorepani Trekking
This area is north of Pokhara which offers some of the most dramatic close-up views of some the most highest and most beautiful mountains in the world.The abrupt variation in the altitude found here in astonishing.From the Pokhara airstrip at 850m the summit of Macchapuchare 6697m is less then 20 miles away, with no intervening ranges to spoil the view.In fact the views along the whole of the trek are superb.
Due to this inredible altitudinal range and an unusual geographical and climatic mix, walking in this area is a natuaralists dream.Also the return trail of the trek is one of the most historical trading route between India and Tibet in the whole Himalyas, and a mojor Piligrimage route.As well as the Gurungs and Magars(Backbone of the famous Gurkha regiments) that inhabit the area we shall meet Tibetan traders and both Hindu and Buddhist Piligrims.
Day 1 : Pokhara
We Drive or Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara.It is total around 200km from kathmandu on the we can see the Good view as well as passing the very good river called Trisuli.This is one of the Good long drive we will got in Nepal.If we take Drive then we will stay in Pokhara this day.
Day 2 : Landrung 1650m
We will take a bus to Dhampus Phedi and our trek will be start from the climbing.At the top of Ridge the Views are magnificent, the peaks of Machhapuchare,Annapurna South(7273m) and Annapurna II (7937m) dominate the the skyline.We move through thick forest to camp in full view of the peak.We climbed through the rhododendron forest, alive with the birds, to about 2160m and then descend toward the village again.and we will reached in Landrung..
Day 3 : Ghandrung 1950m
A short day.We climb up what is Virutally a staircase to the Gurung village of Ghandrung.The Village is beautifully set against the peak of annapurna south and Huichuli (6441m).We have the rest of the day to relax and explore.
Day 4 : Banthante 2774m
We Climbed up through small terraced fields,past farmhouses and into the dense forest.This is a particularly good day for the bird watcher and those interested in flowers.In the winter the daphne is in bloom and it's scent hangs in the trees.In the spring the rhodendrons and orchids bool.View of the annapurnas are also excellent.At the end of a days climbing we camp in a small clearing in the forest next to a stram.
Day 5 : Ghorepani 2830m
In the morning we have steep, and a somewhat exciting climb to Deorali Pass(3087m) and the views on reaching the top are among the best through out Nepal.To the west we see the Dhaulagiri(8167m) the Gurja Himal(7193m) to the east Annapurna II, Manslu(8156m) and Himal Chuli(7893m).Above us towesr the pyramid peak of annapurna south while belowis the deepest river gorge in the world the Kali Gandaki,over 3 miles deeo in some places.From the Pass we descend to Ghaorepani.
Day 6 : Birethanti 1040m
In the morning before sunrise we will take uphill just 45 minutes for Poon Hill.This is most attractive place in this trekking we will got the good View of the every mountain which is in Annapurna region and well as the Good View of the Sunrise from Poon Hill.Here is View Tower also and after we will come back to Hotel and take brakfast and move all the way Down Hills.We descend steadily to Tikhedhunga(1524m) where we Lunch.We have Joined the main trail from Tibet and we are constantly meeting mule traing laden with goods.The traders are Tibetans, Khampas, Mustang People and the Tea Houses along the route are mostly rung by Thakalis.Quite often we meet Hindu saddhus(Priests) and piligrims. We reached the Modi Khola once again and stay its bank where called Birethati.
Day 7 : Pokhara
We will take a Transporation from Birethanti to Pokhara and whole day rest in Pokhara.
Day 8 : Kathamndu
Drive or Fly back to Kathmandu
