TRISULI RIVER : EIGHT DAYS TRIP –TRISULI BAZAR TO NARAYANGHAT
Day 01:
We start-off at about 6 a.m. from Kathmandu and drive for three hours to Trisuli bazaar along the winding high way meandering over the ridges over looking Kathmandu valley that will be a fascinating views till we drive through the pass that will conceal the valley and presents the fabulous mountain chain view the Gaurishanker, Kumbhakarna and others while we drive down hill and com to Trisuli bazaar the put-in-point for this trip. After everything is packed and given safety procedure talk we float and shoot through the minor rapids one after another; there are foew good rapids at the beginning and after sometimes is smooth float till we stop on the way at a well elected spot for lunch. First day it is and unhurried tempo for there the current frequency is just strong enough to drift us all the way except for the few tricky turns as we float through. The landscape changes so much that the gentle going river route narrows now and then presenting large boulders standing in the mid of the river here and there by we will go through at all cost. Later in the afternoon we stop to camp at Burindi on a well expanded sandy beach and once the kitchen is set there will be snacks. Tea or coffee to give us some relaxation; camp will be pitched in no time then our staff will start to prepare meal for thenight and camp-fire woods for the evening so every members can relax and enjoy later in the evening after hearty dinner till members retire to bed.
Day 02: The second day is smooth going passing through the villages at an intervals that those are located close by the river side and we stop for lunch where it suits us and continue on till we reach Maheshdovan the night stop for the day. It is situated close by few local shrines that clients can wander around till late evening while our staffs will be preparing meal for the evening. And after dinner it will be just the time to sit around the camp fire till bed time.
Day 03: Our third day is another leisurely, scenic tempo and gradually we begin to encounter few interesting rapids that those are technical and exciting, that only gives what to come at the next corner. These part depending on to the season we’ll be rewarded with a lots of birds life which will be only a few out of the very 350 different species that is recorded in the Birds of Nepal Book. Among them the River Chats, Cormorants, Lapwings, Dippers, KingFishers, Wagtails and others are present almost the seasons through. We lunch on a selected beach though the place is determined by the interest of the group. And this afternoon we camp at Gajuri. The camp chore will continue as previous days by the landscape changement gives different unique feelings as camp at different spots each days.
Day 04: We wake you up again at 6 a.m. with steaming hot tea in the bed then the breakfast follows in about 8 a.m. after the breakfast we pack up and continue down river again till we come to the confluence of another river called Buri Gandaki – Trisuli. The Buri Gandaki folws down from the Ganesh Himal and Manaslu Himal that meets the main course at this spot and increases the volume prevailing more rapids and current frequency out of which the Tin Devi is one that is rated as the 4 grade depending the seasonal changement. This section will be the highlight of the day and memorable event to feed back. We will be stopping at Charaudi for the camp and enjoy the evening. One thing to mention here is our menu items differ everyday with well balanced items that helps to forget the day’s exhaustion away.
Day 05:
Our fifth day continues with new day and high spirit for today we will be hitting more of the interesting rapids and unique changement of the landscape to view the rapids rate from 3 to 4 as according to the Colorado River scale as one being the easy ones than 7 the most difficult and hard rapids but for this trip we can relax and enjoy the excitement of hitting the never ending slapping water and technical maneuvers now and then. These particular drops and holes are known as Up Set and Surprises of which our staff can relate the account behind it. For lunch we will pick a good spot where ever it suits us and float at the current frequency leisurely and land at Kuringhat for this day. After snacks clients can wander aroung the close-by village where it is inhabited by mixed groups but the Gurungs in major. You can easily see the day to day domestic chores attended by the local family members by yourselves.
Day 06:
Our sixth day opens again with another high spirit for the landscape changes as if it wants to unevil more of the Mother nature blessing and we slowly continue to float again with unhurried tempo till we hit the Pin Ball rapid, there we encounter another river confluence named the Marsyangdi which has drained down from Tilicho Himal with in the Manang valley. Then after wards during the afternoon we spend within its forested canyon. We eat lunch beside the river after well selection so we can relax, swim, explore or laying down to suit individual interests. This evening we camp at Simaltar. In the evening the crew staff will prepare dinner on the firewood while clients can relax around the campfire.
Day 07:
Today we can move quite late for it is a calm section and not much of big rapids to expect to and remain within the current tempo, stopping wheneverrequired. Lunch is served enroute. This evening we camp at Devghat where there is another river confluence the Kali Gandaki but we will camp on the opposite side to the confluence leaving the other side for the special region as being the holy spot of this area. it is filled with well built temple and shrines in the name of various Gods and Gaddesses. During the mid-January thousands pilgrims pay their homeges here and take the Holy bath at the confluence, later in the evening after having snack, tea or coffee we can pay a visit to the temple. The clients can wnder around till they feel like returning back to camp and then relax after dinner till bedtime.
Day 08:
We get-up in our own to have breakfast and laze about till everything are packed up and continue to float down river till we reach Narayanghat the put-out point of this trip which is only two and a half hour float in all. Once we land there the transport will be there to meet us and after everything is packed-up we drive back to Kathmandu or Chitwan National Park.
