1 NIGHT/2 DAYS GAJURI/CHARAUDI/FISHLING WHITE WATER

We leave Kathmandu by 7am in the morning and drive the highway through Thankot, where there is a police checkpost. While clearing the formalities, required by the police checkpost - we will be greeted by hawkers with arrys of chewing gums and biscuits. then we drive out of the valley and enter Khani Khola. The valley offers a panoramic view of a backcountry with terraced fields, rich greenery and thatched houses with smiling children, weaving hands. On a clear morning, we can enjoy the white capped mountain chains in distance, of these are the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Himalchuli, are the best to name a few. We stop at Naubise (26km) for few minutes and stretch our legs for further drive.

From this point , we will be driving on the Prithivi Highway – 174km that links Pokhara. Built by the Chinese in late 60’s – the road runs all the way along river trail (Trisuli) passing a number of village’s enroute. After 2 hours drive we reach Bhaireni, where we catch the first sight of river Trisuli. The river, where we are going to float later on from this point.

Day 1 :
GAJURI/CHARAUDI

The river Trisuli derives its name from the word Trisul the trident of Lord Shiva. It drains down from Langtang glaciers in the Himalayas flowing past the township of Trisuli Bazzar in the northern region of Kathmandu valley. It acts as one of the vital tributaries of river Narayani, which is being the largest in Central Nepal. Eventually, it merges with river Ganges in India.

After the raft is properly rigged, the River Guide (acting as a trip leader) will highlight the Safety Procedures and handover life jackets to all participants. In the mean time the other staffs will take care of the luggage, dividing to a lot to rigg in raft and the other half (camping gears) by road to the Campsite for the night camping at Charaudi. The first half day of the first day is an unhurried tempo yet the current frequency in the river is strong enough to drift us steadily all the way except for few tricky turns byt avoiding the obstacles we will be floating through some continuous rapids. These are technically 3-4 grade rapids as Rocky II* we will be viewing the river birds which are, very unfortunately disappearing owing to the change in the jungle stability. Anyway, we now slowly float lower from Mahabharat region towards the Churia range.

The continuous float takes us through the moderate rapids, whilst enroute we have another tributary river joins of Buri Gandaki, widening and deepening the main river. And, at distance later you will be encountering an exciting rapid known as Tin Devi (Three maidens) which is a technical challenge with boulder obstacles to entangle raft at places but do not worry our experienced guide will take care of this. The stretch onwares is an easy drift until we reach Charaudi*. We will be camping further away in a quite spot for the night.

Day 2 :
CHARAUDI/FISHLING

The second day, we wake you up at 6am with steaming hot tea inside the tent and breakfast follows around 8am. After breakfast we start packing for 2nd day. After the raft is properly rigged, we start floating – the first half is another leisurely floating, turning gradually to bolder rapids along with the change in the landscape as well

Throughout the trip, we will be encountering several big and small rapids, which are@Twin Rapids@Ladies Delight@Monsoon Rapids@Rapids. However, the interesting ones falls after Majhimtar, which is just before the @Up-Set 1 @Rapid.

And, according to Colorado River rating scale – these are rated from 3-7 river scale. For your information, the river rating is based on the Grand Canyon Colorado River scale 1-10 (1 being the easiest and 10 the most difficult). Also, all these rapids have their individual names, and River Guide gives you the related stories behind them. (so go for it).

We will be lunching on a well-extended beach just after going through at @Up Set 2@ rapids, relax for an hour or so. Clients can have some relaxation after the lunch. After lunch we will continue our trips and will be encountering another rapid named as @Surprise Rapid@. It is indeed a surprise to all participants. For your information rapids do increase in size and frequency as the current accelerates. Once we are over this part, we will encounter the calm section, where we will relax, have fun, swim, sun bath or just have a good relaxation until we come to the last rapid @BIJULI RAPID@ before the (extensive suspension) hanging bridge (Jholunge Pul) at FISHLING.

Here we change quickly into the dry clothes and meet the transportation then we drive back to Kathmandu (overland) and by late afternoon say around 1830 hours (4 hours drive) you will have reached your hotel doors
